Tazio Nuvolari 336 Limited Edition watch
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 07 - 09 - 2015

COMMEMORATING the skill and courage of Tazio Nuvolari, who shattered the world speed record in his Alfa Romeo in 1935, Eberhard & Co presents the Tazio Nuuvolari 336 Limited Edition, a select timepiece for the select man!

This limited edition timepiece draws inspiration from this famous episode, where Eberhard & Co. has written a new chapter in the history of one of its best loved collections, expressing the close bond between the watchmaker and the world of classic cars by dedicating to the greatest racing legend of all time the Tazio Nuvolari 336

For the first time the Tazio Nuvolari collection includes a timepiece that offers the reading of two different time zones, one of the 'useful complications' best loved by watch enthusiasts throughout the world.

Great simplicity and legibility make the Tazio Nuvolari 336 a classic example of dual time technology, in the pure tradition of a brand that has dedicated over a century to meeting the practical requirements of the most exacting consumers.

The watch, produced in a limited edition of 336 pieces, is animated by a mechanical automatic-winding movement. The second time zone is displayed at 12 o'clock, while at 6 o'clock there is the indication of the power reserve. The date window is positioned at 3 o'clock.
The movement is housed in a large steel case (45 mm in diameter and waterproof to a depth of 100 meters) which, together with several red details, gives the Tazio Nuvolari 336 a striking look and a winning personality.

The great champion's presence is transmitted by the symbolic number 336, the driver's signature and the initials 'TN' within the carapace, the emblem of Tazio Nuvolari. The watch is notable for its raw-cut ceramic bezel, particularly thick at a side view: the result is a pleasing three-dimensional effect enriched by hollowed hourmarkers. The Dual Time function is regulated at the 10 o'clock position through a button characterized by an elongated shape and embellished with the driver's initials.

The Tazio Nuvolari 336 is secured at the back by 8 screws and it comes with a black alligator strap with red stitching, completed by a buckle engraved with “E&Co.” At the product launch at the recently concluded Baselworld, the Eberhard & Co. stand displayed the extraordinary“Alfa Romeo twin-engine” in which Tazio Nuvolari set that unforgettable record. This is a unique opportunity for visitors to the fair to see one of the most famous vehicles in the history of world motor racing. The vehicle has two turbocharged engines, one at the front and one at the back, each with 3165 cc, with total capacity of 6330 cc and maximum power of 540 HP (270 HP each). This car was hard to handle even at low speeds and only a skilled driver like Nuvolari could have achieved such a remarkable feat. — SG
