Community bid adieu to Pakistan diplomats

RIYADH — Prominent Pakistani businessman Bashir Ahmed Chaudhary hosted a farewell dinner for the outgoing diplomats of Pakistani Embassy at his residence here.
Defense Attaché Brig. Tahir Gulzar Malik and Head of Chancery Abbas Sarwar Qureshi, who have completed their tenure in the Kingdom, will be leaving Saudi Arabia soon.
The farewell dinner was largely attended by community members, senior embassy officials and well wishers.
Faisal Alvi ably conducted the ceremony that began with recitation of some verses from the Holy Qur'an by Dr. Asif Naeem and a presentation of soulful Naat by prominent business entrepreneur Tanvir Mian.
Bidding the duo farewell, Bashir Chaudhary said that they had performed their duties remarkably well during their tenure and their invaluable services for the community will always be remembered.
Waqar Naseem Wamiq paid rich tributes to the duo in his poetry and he symbolized the friendly relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia in the following couplet,
Dosti ka Maqaam Teray Naam
Aaj Mera Kalaam Teray Naam
Subh e Roshan Tumhari Nazr Karoon
Abr Aalood Sham Teray Naam
Speaking on the occasion Director Darussalam publications Abdul Malik Mujahid highly praised the standards of professionalism set by the outgoing diplomats.
Mujahid corroborated that the both Brig. Tahir and Abbas Qureshi will continue to contribute toward achieving the national goals of Pakistan in so many positive ways.
Eminent scholar Prof. Ghulam Sarwar Qureshi described the successful tenure of the duo as the result of their faith and timeless efforts.
Prof. Qureshi indulged his audience with some quotable quotes of Khalil Jibran and Umar Khayyam.
The two outgoing diplomats profusely thanked their host for the farewell party held in their honor.
Abbas shared some memorable moments of his tenure and thanked the community for being very supportive. He ensured the audience that the Embassy will keep on serving the community in the best possible way under the able leadership of Ambassador Manzoor ul Haq.
Abbas said that during the tenure of Ambassador Manzoor ul Haq, Pak-Saudi relations will further strengthen and Pakistani expats in the Kingdom will enjoy speedy services from the embassy.
Brig. Tahir expressed gratitude to the governments of Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. “The relations of two brotherly countries are at their best,” he said.
