Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel Jeddah opens for business
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 27 - 07 - 2015

CARLSON Rezidor, one of the most dynamic and largest hotel groups worldwide, has announced the opening of its newest property in Saudi Arabia, the Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel in Jeddah.

“Saudi Arabia enjoys a growing economy and Jeddah continues to be an important city for domestic tourism in the country,” said Mark Willis Area Vice President Middle East and Turkey, the Rezidor Hotel Group. “Our primary concern is to maintain the high standards and quality reputation we have established wherever we have our hotels and I am confident that the new Radisson Blu Plaza Jeddah will complement our growth in the Kingdom and become a bastion of supreme hotel service and guest satisfaction.”

Located close to local businesses and near to Jeddah's Al Andalus Square project, the Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel is ideally positioned for business, leisure, and pleasure. Guests also have easy access to Al Andalus and Al Salam malls.

The property has 112 rooms and suites, with space, light and comfort taking priority in their decor. Suites within the hotel are designed to be a premier accommodation choice in Jeddah, with separated lounge and bedroom areas.

“With its prime location, the Radisson Blu Plaza Jeddah is a welcome addition to the growing hospitality market in Jeddah and we are delighted to be flying the Radisson Blu flag at this new hotel. We have a first class team in place and an unqualified desire to make this newly rebranded property a huge success,” said Basel Talal, District Director Saudi Arabia, the Rezidor Hotel Group Saudi Arabia and General Manager of Radisson Blu Hotel, Riyadh.

In addition to Al Liwan, an all-day casual dining outlet serving popular international dishes with local inspiration, the Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel features a friendly, welcoming Lobby Café, and 24-hour room service. Recreational features in the hotel include an outdoor pool area and a fitness center.

With an ambitious pipeline of properties in the Middle East region, Saudi Arabia represents a key growth market for Carlson Rezidor. The group currently operates 9 hotels in the Kingdom, including the Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel in Jeddah, with a plan to operate more than 20 properties across the country in the next three years.

“There is substantial potential for the hospitality industry in Saudi Arabia, particularly Jeddah,” concluded Willis. “Our newest property, the Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel, delivers the signature Radisson Blu experience to guests, whatever the purpose of their visit.” — SG
