Jeddawis to enjoy exciting ballet, daring acrobatics and clowns

JEDDAH — The world premiere of the Russian, Ukrainian and Uzbekistan Circus will be staged in Jeddah. As such Jeddawis and people from all over the Kingdom will be able to enjoy exciting ballet, daring acrobatics and clowns from July 18 to Aug. 18 at the Land of Events located in the northern part of Obhur, as part of Jeddah Eid and Summer Festival 36.
The two 120-minute shows will be held daily, commencing at 7.30 p.m. and 10 p.m., from the second day of Eid to entertain residents, expatriates and visitors to the city. The circus will be a melange of traditional acts within a contemporary setting. A range of Russian, Ukrainian and Uzbekistani circus moves have been paired with ballet, daring acrobatics and clowns to appeal to the young and old. The circus also brings together renowned and emerging performers from the three countries.
Speaking about the event which will be organized in collaboration with Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI), Waleed Alfi, general manager of 1&21 company, organizer of the event, said: “Russian, Ukrainian and Uzbekistan Circus features an elite group of artists and professional performers who present exhilarating acrobatic performances and delightful shows to suit all tastes and all ages, little ones and adults alike.”
He continued: “The circus is expected to submerge Jeddah in an air of joy and fun, and offers a unique experience and a fun-packed atmosphere for visitors thanks to the lively and exciting shows, including performances by the ‘rubber man', clowns, motorcycle high-wire daredevils, as well as an array of acrobatic and comedian performances, trapeze and bicycles shows.”
The world circus features 20 internationally acclaimed artists and performers with exceptional skills and agility that help them perform such difficult and sensational acts. “We look forward to entertaining and challenging the imagination of our audiences in this region,” says Alfy. Meanwhile, Mohammed Al Saeid, director of events at JCCI and assistant director of Jeddah Summer Festival 36 “Jeddah Ghair” said: “There will be something for everyone and we look forward to sharing this wonderful experience with our visitors.”
Tickets for the circus will be available at the circus site in Obhur, in three categories, including first, second and VIP.
