MENA's biggest brands celebrate Ramadan on Twitter

RAMADAN in MENA is a special time of year for nationals and expatriates alike. It is a time of increased socializing and hospitality, with residents tending to spend more time than usual with friends and family. With this in mind, it is no surprise that social media engagement also increases during the holy month. According to Twitter's Ramadan behavior survey conducted earlier this year, 42 percent of UAE respondents expected their Twitter usage to increase during #Ramadan2015.
Aside from being used for personal purposes, Ramadan is also a great time for businesses of all sizes to connect and engage with Twitter users. Below are the top 10 Twitter's advertisers that received the most engagement during the first three weeks of Ramadan.
The list is dominated by broadcasters, retailers and food and beverage manufacturers – a direct reflection of what the consumer focus during the month of Ramadan revolves around. Similarly, mirroring the focus of their campaigns is on giving, entertainment and hospitality.
1. @Almajdchannels is running a number of campaigns showcasing the range of TV programs set to entertain people during the Ramadan period.
2. @Skynewsarabia is promoting the shift in global dialogue around happenings in the Arab World.
3. @saadeddinpastry is using creative video content to promote their delicious range of pastries during the Ramadan period.
4. @CocaCola has made a big splash in the region with its recent #RemoveLabels campaigns amongst others, promoting peace and understanding during the Ramadan period.
5. @Almajed4oud is promoting a series of campaigns highlighting the tremendous offers available in their stores for fragrances during the Ramadan period.
