35.6% of employees admit skills gap exists
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 07 - 07 - 2015

JEDDAH — Continuing with its mission to empower people in the Middle East with the tools and information to lead better lives, Bayt.com has recently unveiled two new products that help bridge the skills' gap in the Middle East.

According to the Bayt.com ‘Skills and Hiring Trends in the MENA' poll, January 2015, 35.6% of employees believe there is a skills' gap in the Middle East.

‘Bayt.com Tests' allows employers to hire the person with the correct skillset quickly, easily, and cost-effectively. It works simply: recruiters can qualify candidates by choosing from a wide range of tests made by experts, on a wide array of topics that include testing candidates' IQ, personality, and technical skills.

“Imagine if employers could simply know the IQ and skill levels of all the people applying to their job vacancies before they even interview them,” said Omar Tahboub, VP of Product, Bayt.com. “It would make hiring easier than ever before, and save companies a massive amount of energy, time, and money that would otherwise go into qualifying candidates. We have seen time and time again that employers are in need of tools to verify claimed skill.

Therefore, and due to popular demand, we have just released a unique feature that allows employers to do just that: ‘Bayt.com Tests' lets employers choose from a wide variety of tests (IQ, technical skills, and personality) to send to their candidates.”

As part of the effort to provide learning offerings for jobseekers to help them acquire and validate their job skills, Bayt.com has re-launched its courses offering, now for the first time with online courses, starting with a partnership with Darebni TV.

This new learning method that anyone can access from the comfort of their own home offers technical, audio-visual learning material in Arabic. Jobseekers can simply access those online courses and attain the required skills for their next career move, and acquire a certificate of completion on their CVs.

“It is a compelling and fundamental issue nowadays for jobseekers to be able to ensure their prominence with the right set of skill for their target job,” said Tahboub. “Employer consideration of both online and offline skills is rapidly expanding, and here, at Bayt.com, it's a part of our mission to empower jobseekers with the right tools to achieve their career goals and to ensure employers that our #1 site offers unparalleled services to train employees and help them reach their full potential at the workplace.”

Marwan Ziadat, CEO and founder of Darebni TV, welcomed the opportunity, describing Bayt.com as one of the leading job sites in the Middle East. “It is a significant step,” he said, “Darebni TV and Bayt.com share the same mission. Both companies seek to help empower the skills of professionals and jobseekers. Darebni TV offers a premium training content composed of online videos, exercise files & projects for a large library of subjects and skills which will help jobseekers on Bayt.com to develop the skills needed to accelerate their careers.” — SG
