Breitling introduces two new additions to its Colt Collection
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 22 - 06 - 2015

LUXURY Swiss watchmaker, Breitling has launched its military inspired Colt Chronograph Automatic and the Colt 36 to its Colt collection in the Middle East. First launched in the 1980s, the collection, which was initially intended for the armed forces, became popular with a wider audience due to the model's sturdiness, functionality and readability, in combination with the world class Breitling design.
Bringing the spirit of the adventurous brand to life, the watches were launched at a military and aviation themed event where attendees were transported by helicopter before an exclusive lesson in handling and shooting firearms.
Speaking about the new additions to the region Aed Adwan, Breitling Middle East, said: “Breitling's passion began and remains in aviation and providing instruments for professionals. This is a brand for those with an appetite for excitement and pushing the boundaries of life. Our watches offer uncompromising performance or precision with styling that caters to men and women.”
“The understated and efficient style of the Colt collection perfectly reflects its original vocation as a chronograph for the armed forces. Due to its popularity with a broader audience since its first introduction in the 80s, the collection has evolved and offers pieces for both men and women while maintaining the features that made it so popular.”
Designed for fans of adrenaline and adventure, the 44 mm-diameter Colt Chronograph Automatic is available in four versions with well-defined characters, including a quartz chronograph and a ladies' watch. Styling offers black, blue or silver dials which are enlivened by a fine circular raised motif, their readability is reinforced by oversized hands and hour-markers enhanced by a luminescent coating.
Powered by a self-winding movement, the model showcases the technical, understated and efficient styling of the Colt collection, with a broad unidirectional rotating bezel, satin-brushed finishes and engraved hour-markers. The model is distinguished by its four “rider tabs“– a signature Breitling feature – ensuring both excellent handling and optimal protection of the sapphire crystal glare proofed on both sides.
The Colt 36 offers a feminine expression of the Breitling spirit and was created for women who wish to combine elegance with performance. With its 36 mm diameter and mother-of-pearl dials, the model ticks to ladies' time while maintaining its legendary sturdiness and readability.
All versions of this timepiece are available with an optional diamond-set bezel and buyers can tailor this model to their style by choosing from steel or smooth leather bracelet and straps. The highly exclusive leather strap features a fine wave motif which is available in a broad range of colors.
The Colt 36 is fully equipped for daring females, with its screw-locked crown which is water-resistant to 200 m (660 ft) – a rare feat for a ladies' watch. The models dial is also ultra-readable with its luminescent hands, numerals and hour-markers which are protected by a sapphire crystal glare proofed on both sides.
Both models are equipped with a movement chronometer-certified by the COSC (Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute). — SG
