The Security Affairs Committee at the Shoura Council is discussing reasons that led to an increase in traffic accidents which cost the government's treasury over SR12 billion annually. Shoura Council member, Khaleel Al-Khaleel said the study being conducted in collaboration with several agencies involved in traffic is looking into solutions to the accidents which have become a concern to the Shoura Council Security Committee. He said royal directives have been issued for the implementation of the study aimed at creating recommendations to help reduce traffic accident casualties and injuries which have increased at a higher percentage compared to other countries. Al-Khaleel said the Security Committee at the Shoura is studying traffic safety regulations in order to cope with new traffic laws issued last month pointing out that the review of the regulations is being made in collaboration with the National Committee for Traffic Safety.
