The Magrabi Hospitals and Centers has opened Al-Magrabi Specialized Center for the Treatment and Surgery of Retina at its headquarters on the Madinah road in Jeddah. The center is equipped with the latest medical and technical tools and specifications. It consists of a unit for early detection and treatment of retina diseases and diabetes, a retina detachment surgery unit, a unit for the treatment of the retina illnesses accompanying old age, a unit for correction of retina by laser, a unit for vitreum injections, a unit for iris inflammations and a unit for the examination of the eye retinas. Dr. Walid Abdul Rahman Ibrahim Al-Turki, board member, general supervisor of the medical services and head of the department of retina surgeries said the establishment of the center was within the distinguished services Magrabi is extending to its patients. He said the retina diseases have widely spread in the region especially among the diabetics who are the most susceptible to get this kind of sickness. He said the center is located on a wide area covering the entire third floor in Magrabi Center on Madinah road. Dr. Turki said the new retina center is the first of its kind in the Kingdom specialized in the retina treatments and surgeries. “The center is a distinguished addition to the retina patients especially the diabetics. It provides consummate care to the diabetics with retina complications,” he added. He said Magrabi Group of Hospitals and Centers is keen to use the most modern and the latest equipment for the treatment of all eye diseases including the retina.
