DAMMAM — The Eastern Province Department of Education is currently investigating an elementary school teacher from Qatif who was accused of forcing his male students to wear girls' clothes during a theater play, even though no one has formally complained, Al-Hayat reported. A video of the production circulated on social media and was condemned by parents who believed it was wrong to dress the students this way. However, it is understood parents of the students had full knowledge of how the teacher would produce the play. It is not clear who leaked the video of the production. Spokesman for the Eastern Province Department of Education Saeed Al-Bahes said an investigation committee was formed to investigate the incident. He said the committee met with the teacher to get an explanation. The teacher was also told to sign an undertaking not to repeat his actions. In response, parents of the children came out in support of the teacher and criticized the committee. They said the teacher had implemented new ways to encourage their children to learn and love school.
