Saudi Gazette report JEDDAH — Employees of the Saudi Ground Services Company (SGSC) have complained that the new uniforms do not look neat, Makkah newspaper reported. The uniform consists of a dark grey suit and a green tie with different geometric shapes. Most employees expressed anger at the look of the new ties and said the colors do not match. They said they should wear neat and color-coordinated uniforms because they receive passengers on a daily basis and have to portray a good image about the country and the company. An SGSC source at King Abdulaziz International Airport said any company has the right to choose the uniform of its staff. “The new uniform has been selected carefully and it is made of the finest fabric and designed by a high-profile Korean company,” the source said. Design experts selected the uniform and assigned an Italian company to make the prototype design. Reham Abu Al-Faraj, etiquette and color expert at House of Color, said the green color is a good choice because it gives energy and is a symbol for loyalty and trust and matches well with the grey color. But, she added, the bright green color must have attracted attention and that is why the staff felt annoyed or uncomfortable. She did say that the geometric shapes on the tie were “annoying” and not suitable for the workplace. “We recommend that simple and classic colors and lines should be used to reflect the beauty of the uniform,” she said. Omar Ashour, men's clothes designer, said he prefers dark green colors for ties because they reflect seriousness about work.
