I am writing with regard to the post "Are Saudi women willing to take a taxi with a Saudi driver?" (Apr. 27). Taxi drivers must be trained in "etiquette and manners" before a taxi license is issued to them. A taxi driver should never ask a woman personal questions, such as: Are you married?, How many children do you have?, How old are you?, Where is your house? or Where do you work? Nor should a taxi driver chat with a female passenger, and should only answer questions that the customer asks him. If a taxi driver does not know the destination, he must say so beforehand instead of driving around in the wrong direction and phoning his friends asking how to get there. Avid1111, Online response
I have found that Saudi taxi drivers do not assist passengers in loading or unloading their luggage. On reaching the destination, the driver just presses the button to open the trunk of the taxi without even getting out the vehicle to help! Athar Shah, Online response
