Stadia or sports villages? Shoura to vote tomorrow
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 19 - 04 - 2015

Saudi Gazette report
RIYADH — The Shoura Council on Monday will vote on a proposal to convert the proposed sports stadiums into fully fledged sports villages.
The late King Abdullah ordered the construction of 11 world-class sports stadiums in various regions of the Kingdom. The new stadiums will be built in the provinces of Madinah, Al-Qassim, Eastern Province, Asir, Tabuk, Hail, Northern Border Region, Jazan, Najran, Baha and Al-Jouf.
In line with King Abdullah's directive, Saudi Aramco has been entrusted with the task of building the stadiums. The King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah, which was inaugurated by the King in May 2014, was built by Saudi Aramco.
The Shoura will also vote on another proposal asking the General Presidency of Youth Welfare to take appropriate measures to tackle the phenomenon of hooliganism, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
These proposals are included in the report prepared by the committee for social, family and youth affairs after examining the annual report of the presidency for the fiscal year 2013-14.
Last Wednesday, committee members held a meeting with Prince Abdullah Bin Musaed, head of the presidency.
The Shoura will also listen to the viewpoints of the committee for education and scientific research with regard to the opinions of the members concerning an amendment in Article 9 of the Bylaw for Foreign Schools operating in the Kingdom.
The bylaw amendment was sent to the Council to study in line with Article 17 of the Shoura Council Law.
The 32nd session of the Council on Tuesday will vote on a proposal to amend Article 62 of the Social Insurance Law so as to take penal action against employers who misuse the names of Saudi citizens in social insurance. The punitive measures will include fines and publicizing names of the violators.
The Council will take its decision after examining the report of the finance committee that was prepared after considering the viewpoints of the Council members during their deliberations on the topic held in previous sessions.
