JEDDAH — Bayona led the JunBarkad team with a game-high 22 points and to a thrilling 79-65 victory over Air Force in the Jeddah Legends Basketball Tournament.
The tournament, played on Thursdays and Fridays, is sponsored by Timex, Manila Zago and Al Mukhlis Hearing Center.
Though Air Force's Dawood nearly matched the player of the match Bayona with a sterling 21 points effort, it was the JunBarkad's bench depth that tilted the scales.

In other games on Friday, Lebanese Cedars team, of coach Hassan, outplayed Avengers team to get the 59-46 winning score. Jadi led his teammates with a fine display and was adjudged best player of the game.

The Alumco team headed by team manager and head coach Lim scored an one-sided victory against KAMCJ, gaining a win by big 43 points with Tan blazing away with 24 points. Though Poblete also got 24 big points for KAMCJ his efforts were in vain. Tan got the best player of the game award.

Three games were played on Thursday with Avengers handing head coach and manager Nassib a win when they beat Al Mukhlis 75- 67 for their first win. Best player of the game was Rayan of Avengers team with 21 key points.

In the second game, Manila Zago team scored a thrilling 75-71 win over Lebanese Cedars. The JLBT-leading warriors were spearheaded by Gilbert Catamora, scoring 19 points in an all-round show, and was the best player of the game. Coach Third Santos and team manager Loue Ghazi fashioned out the team's win in the rated division.

The first game for non rated division was a very close fight from the start with Manila Zago eventually pulling away for a 103-85 victory. Abu Dawood collapsed in the last quarter and coach Glenn of Manila Zago sustained the momentum until the last minute. Sanchez, who scored 28 points, got the best player of the game plum.
