Published in The Saudi Gazette on 05 - 04 - 2015

Al Hikma, a major player in the UAE cosmetics and skincare products, said tat the increasing cases of dermatological disorders, growing awareness of skin diseases, and ever-increasing trend towards non-invasive or less invasive aesthetic procedures are driving the dermatology treatment solutions market.
Quoting EuroMonitor figures, Al Hikma said the annual sales of dermatology solutions will reach $30 billion.
Commenting ahead of its participation in the Dubai World Dermatology & Laser Conference & Exhibition – Dubai Derma, which will be held on April 7-9 April at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, Al Hikma said demand for dermatology solutions has been showing remarkable growth in the UAE.
“Skincare solutions have proved to be effective aesthetic procedures, especially with the complex and advanced scientific solutions that are being introduced regularly. The industry is growing in line with the growth of other economic sectors and consumer spend power in the region,” said Dr Ali. F. Abdulqader, Managing Director, Al Hikma FZCO.
He said the derma market is segmented on the basis of products on offer. In the UAE, dermatologists and physicians fully understand the significance of the products provided by cosmetics companies which can in many cases be a good alternative for drugs and medicines or even surgeries.
Abdulqader added: “Cosmetology is a burgeoning industry as evidenced by growing number of international companies exhibiting creams and specilalized equipment at this conference. At Al Hikma we are showcasing a wide range of products from our portfolio of beauty brands. The products brought by Al Hikma to the region are distinguished by their components backed by extensive pre-launch studies to ensure that customers get top of the line solutions.”
Al Hikma will be displaying SkinConcept products, pioneers in innovative beauty and skin care category. The company will also showcase its highly successful Vinoderm brand in the region. Two other major brands ‘SwissCode' and ‘Vetia Floris' will also be on display.
“There is all-round growth in demand for our global dermatology treatment solutions. Vinoderm is doing very well. The Swiss brand combines modern formulations with the latest high-tech skin care compounds. We have developed an effective and luxurious skincare line that draws its strengths from nature. Vinoderm meets the requirements of all skin types,” Abdulqader said.
The event is dedicated to practitioners, specialists, manufacturers and distributors in the field of dermatology, skin care and laser. The show brings together the latest technology in skin care through specialized exhibition, lectures, courses and workshops. — SG
