AL-QURAYYAT — Saudi Ambassador to Jordan Sami Bin Abdullah Al-Saleh has refuted recent media reports that 50 Saudi men had married Syrian women in Al-Zaatari and other refugee camps in Jordan over the past few days. “These are shear rumors aimed at smearing the reputation of Saudis abroad,” he said. The ambassador said any marriage of a Saudi man or woman abroad cannot be completed without the embassy's permission which is based on the approval of the Interior Ministry. He said during the past three months, the embassy recorded 151 official marriages of Saudi men to foreign women, the majority of whom were Jordanians. The ambassador asked the media not to circulate rumors and to take news from their original sources. — By Abdulaziz Al-Mushaiti — Okaz/Saudi Gazette
