Bank AlJazira unveils Ajwaa credit card that earns more air miles
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 24 - 03 - 2015

BANK AlJazira launched its all-new, innovative and Shariah-compliant credit card, “Ajwaa”, targeting the bank's customers who love traveling.
The new card offers customers free air miles when they use it for purchases. The customers can redeem their air miles to buy airline tickets from over 600 airlines or book hotel accommodation or car rental.
All they have to do is to log in to a dedicated website, www.ajwaa.baj.com.sa and redeem. It is that easy.
Customers do not need to belong to any frequent flyer programs from any airlines nor any hotel loyalty programs to redeem Ajwaa miles.
There are no blackout periods or limited seats as in airline reward programs. Airline special fares can also be redeemed depending on availability.
During the launch event attended by officials representing Bank AlJazira and Visa International Khalid bin Othman Al Othman, SVP and Head of Retail Banking Group at Bank AlJazira, said “Ajwaa” card was specifically designed to be the best credit card with the best rewards program in KSA.
It will also grant cardholders the highest air miles' value, in addition to the ease of redeeming miles through a dedicated Ajwaa website. He added: “The card has many innovative features and gives access to various exceptional services which the bank provides in line with its commitment to provide customers with more innovative products.
Our credit card offerings exceeded all expectations, achieving the largest growth share in the Saudi credit cards market in 2014.”
Ahmed Jaber, Director of Visa in Saudi Arabia, said “we are delighted to partner with Bank AlJazira which is witnessing a remarkable success in the credit cards market, thanks to the policy the Bank adopts in expanding and innovating its credit card offerings, and providing the best solutions that meet customer needs.”
He added: “Ajwaa credit card comes with travel insurance and unique offers from local and international merchants.
Cardholders can redeem the air miles they earned after making purchases through Ajwaa card with air tickets at more than 600 airlines and a large number of hotels.
The Ajwaa Infinite and Signature cards also gives customer access to VIP lounges in 500 airports all over the world.”
In addition, cardholders can purchase more miles through the dedicated website, and complete their air tickets and hotel accommodations reservations or car rental directly and within a few minutes. The card comes with Extended Warranty and Purchase Protection features.
As soon as the customers get their Ajwaa card and the card is activated, they will be granted up to 150,000 free air miles.
Yearly, the annual fees can be waived in case the total annual purchases reached the minimum required purchases. — SG
