‘We need to follow the teachings of the Prophet'
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 03 - 02 - 2015

RIYADH — A presentation was screened on the biography of the Prophet (peace be upon him) here by Dr. Muhammad Najeeb Qasmi.

Qasmi said: “The Prophet is an ideal for entire human kind. We need to follow his Sunnah in our day to day life. Ironically today we are accustomed of neglecting Sunnah merely because they are not obligations.

This perception has to be changed. We are supposed to strictly adhere to Sunnah of our beloved Prophet. More ironical is that some people do not hesitate to make fun of Sunnah. Making fun of a Sunnah leads to destruction of one's faith. Allah the Exalted has kept all the Sunnah of His beloved Prophet alive. They are being practiced either by a mass on mass level or by individuals on individual level.”

Qasmi in his presentation threw light on almost all the valuable aspects of the Prophet and presented it in a way that was interesting and easy for people to understand.

The presentation is available on his website www.najeebqasmi.com. It contains brief historical events that took place during the period of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and emphasizes on lessons we need to learn from those events.

Qasmi also said through this presentation the entire life of the Prophet (peace be upon him) teaches Muslims to be patient and face all the challenges which are coming their way on both national and international levels with wisdom and maturity. “Muslims need to strengthen their relationship with Allah.”

Qasmi also emphasized on the need for reading biography of the Prophet and training children accordingly.

Qasmi has authored several books, and recently completed his doctorate from Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi.

The program was presided over by Abdul Bari Qasmi. Abdurrahman Amri inaugurated the program with the recitation of a few verses from the Qur'an.

At the end of the program DVDs comprising 50 Arabic, English and Urdu books on biography of the Prophet and different lectures on Seerat-un-Nabi were distributed free of cost. — SG
