JEDDAH — The first phase of the construction of the new King Abdulaziz International Airport will be completed soon at a cost of SR27 billion. Faisal Bin Hamad Al-Suqair, deputy chairman of the General Authority for Civil Aviation (GACA), told Okaz/Saudi Gazette that when completed the airport will have 46 gates and serve about 30 million passengers annually. He said the new airport would have a capacity to handle as many as 92 aircraft at a time.
