TALLAHASSEE, Florida — Jameis Winston drove top-ranked Florida State 66 yards to put Roberto Aguayo in position for a 26-yard field goal with 3 seconds remaining, as the Seminoles remained undefeated with a 20-17 victory over Boston College Saturday.
Florida State has been plagued by slow starts throughout the season and the Seminoles went into the fourth quarter level at 17-17 with the Eagles. But with less than five minutes left, Winston helped engineer another game-winning drive. The Seminoles have won a school-record 27 consecutive games.
No. 2 Alabama trounced Western Carolina 48-14 after Derrick Henry rushed for two touchdowns and scored a third on a catch, all in the first half.
The Crimson Tide recovered from a slow start to score the final 31 points in its first game since rising to No. 1 in the College Football Playoff rankings. Western Carolina scored a touchdown on the opening drive and trailed just 17-14 early in the second quarter.
The Tide can clinch a spot in the SEC championship game with a victory next weekend at home over No. 16 Auburn.

Freshman Royce Freeman ran for 105 yards and two scores for the Ducks. Oregon has already clinched the North Division's berth in the conference championship game on Dec. 5.
No. 4 Mississippi State's Dak Prescott threw three touchdown passes and ran for a devastating 51-0 win over Vanderbilt, while Bryce Petty threw touchdown passes on No. 6 Baylor's first two drives in a comfortable 49-28 victory over Oklahoma State.
Jalin Marshall returned a punt 54 yards for a touchdown to give No. 7 Ohio State the lead late in the third quarter and added three late insurance scores in a 42-27 win over Indiana, and Arkansas safety Rohan Gaines returned an interception 100 yards for a touchdown in a 30-0 victory over No. 8 Mississippi.
In other games, No. 9 Georgia scored two touchdowns on its first three snaps, including an 83-yard touchdown run by Nick Chubb, for a 55-9 win over Charleston Southern, No. 10 Michigan State trounced Rutgers 45-3, No. 11 USLA defeated No. 24 USC 38-20, No. 13 Arizona State beat Washington State 52-31 and No. 14 Wisconsin edged Iowa 26-24.
