Saudi American Glass (SAG) – part of Glass LLC, a subsidiary of Dubai Investments PJSC and a leading processor of Architectural Flat Glass in the Middle East, has announced that it is unveiling its revolutionary Smartglass and FireLite technology at the Saudi Build 2014 exhibition, currently under way in Riyadh.
With $195.4 billion worth of construction planned in Saudi Arabia in the coming three years, the focus is on the implementation of rapidly-changing technologies, materials and techniques in the projects. As part of its participation, SAG is bringing forth the latest innovation in the glass industry to the construction industry in Saudi Arabia.
SAG is reinforcing the uniqueness of the Smartglass concept and technology – an innovative flat glass product that can turn from translucent to opaque, and which allows instant privacy at the flick of a switch. Smartglass is currently enhancing environments in more than 33 countries across six continents.
SAG, which provides glass for industrial, architectural and construction applications, is also showcasing the FireLite solutions – a thick fire-rated and glazing material that blocks fire and smoke and equipped to meet impact resistance requirements. SAG is the exclusive provider of the FireLite technology in the country.
Rizwanullah Khan, Executive President of SAG, Emirates Glass and Lumiglass, said: “Since its inception in 1978, Saudi American Glass enjoys a strategic leadership in architectural flat glass in Saudi Arabia. With the Smartglass and FireLite technology, we are taking our leadership to the next level. We are constantly working in tandem with building code officials, designers and manufacturers to identify and develop glass products that adhere to the safety, aesthetics and other requirements of the building industry, and happy to showcase these at Saudi Build.”
