Samsung Tech Institute to rise in Madinah, Jeddah and Riyadh

RIYADH – Samsung Electronics, global leader in communications, digital media and digital technologies, signed a strategic partnership agreement with the Technical and Vocational Training Institute in Riyadh, aiming to adopt the “Corporate Citizenship” program in the field of electronic training in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The agreement was signed by Dr. Rashid bin Mohammed Al Zahrani, Vice Governor of TVTC for Training and Jae Cheon Park, General Manager of Samsung Electronics in Saudi Arabia, in the presence of the Republic of Korea Ambassador to Saudi Arabia.
Samsung will assist in the establishment of integrated centers for maintenance training under the name of “Samsung Tech Institute” that will be equipped with the latest technical equipment for the student body, in addition to support and provide extensive professional training to more than 18 accredited trainers of the institute in techniques and methods of Samsung Electronics in either Samsung HQ in S. Korea or regional HQ in Dubai, whereby they will be able to impart these teachings to the students of the institute. This training program (Training-The-Trainers) will receive training on various product categories, mainly: hand held phones, home appliances, air condition, audiovisual and IT. Samsung and TVTC will inevitably exchange experiences and knowledge, thus remaining within the framework of giving back to the Saudi community, and towards achieving the principle of strategic partnership in social responsibility.
Dr. Rashid bin Mohammed Al Zahrani, Vice Governor of TVTC for Training, said “the agreement represents the desire of both sides to exchange technical knowledge and know-how for the purpose of developing skills and the professional capacity of the institution and its enrolling body. These centers will enable our students to acquire the skills that are highly required in the labor market and set forth ambitious career paths that fit their passions and aspirations.”
Samsung Tech Institute, in partnership with Technical and Vocational Training Institute, will be set up in Madinah, Jeddah and Riyadh to cater to key regions with strategic plans for further expansion, to ensure that in line with the objectives of providing ‘Smart Schools' in rural areas, and provide technical and vocational training for the local youth.
“The agreement is consistent with the objectives put forth in building strategic partnerships with the global leaders, and to seek access to successful partnerships in support of the training unit's message to increase the value and quality of knowledge and training in accordance with the standards and specifications required in the labor market, as well as bridging the gap between theory and practice through training and the application of renewable technologies in related sectors,” Dr. Rashid noted.
Jae Cheon Park said “the partnership was the result of both parties' desire to serve the Saudi community through the advanced and continuous training in Samsung's areas of specialization. Without a doubt, Samsung found the appropriate environment to establish its social responsibility program, and Samsung will not spare an effort to make this partnership and its goals as successful as they can possibly be.”
“And it shall not stop at the training as Samsung will not only provide means to support to hold the training courses for the student body at TVTC, but seek to employ the students with outstanding graduating grades at our company or with our trusted partners across the Kingdom,” he added. — SG
