IISB conducts quiz contest to encourage extracurricular activities

BURAIDAH — The Parents Forum of the International Indian School Buraidah (IISB) organized a quiz contest recently to provide a break to students and parents from the text book routine and evolve a new culture of extracurricular activity.
The competition titled “Brain Hunt Quiz” was a huge success as it witnessed large participation of students, parents and teachers.
Mirza Zaheer Baig, a scientist at the King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals KFUPM), conducted the mega final event and acted as the Quiz Master.
He is a certified counselor who has delivered many presentations on personality development, orientation programs for students and stress management for teachers and employees.
The forum had published and distributed two months before the competition a data bank with 500 questions and answer among the students.
After initial rounds of written test in two categories—senior and junior—18 finalists were selected.
Final teams were sponsored by Deera Market, TVS Cargo and Bismi travels. Each team included three members. In the senior category, the first three winning teams were Deera, TVS, and Bismi. Among juniors, the first three winning teams were TVS, Bismi, Deera.
Sulaiman Bin Al Ghaffari, manager public relation, Chamber of Commerce Qassim, inaugurated the program.
Latheef Thacham boziyil, Prasanth Pinarai, Sakeer Pathara and Iqbal Pallimukku presided over the event.
Anwar Sadath CP, chief coordinator, event committee, presented a report on the event. Prominent guests at the event included Dr. Naseeduheen, chairman IISB, Dr. Arif Pasha, Dr. Zakirudeen, member of IISB managing committee; Mohammed Basheer, former chairman IISB; Nasreen Syed, principal IISB; Sheeja Nazer vice principal IISB; and Reshma Prasanth, member, Syllabus Committee.
Abdul Raheem Farooqi distributed the mementos, certificates and other gifts to winners. M.A Salam, chairman, Event Committee, welcomed the guests and, Abdul Ghafoor proposed vote of thanks.
