RIYADH — Pakistan Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif's close aide and his party's information secretary Sen. Mushahidullah was welcomed by over 500 PML-N supporters and enthusiasts at a ceremony held to mark the celebration of March 23rd Pakistan Resolution Day at a local hotel here on Friday. Amid chants from the visitors who hailed the Saudi king and the Pakistan president, the visiting senator, accompanied by Pakistan Ambassador Naeem Khan and his team, reminded the gathering that the Kingdom and Pakistan enjoyed special relationship as indicated from time-to-time by the Custodian of Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah. “There have been visits in recent weeks by the highest dignitaries of the Kingdom to Pakistan, including contributions to Pakistan Development Fund which are ample proof of special relationship the two Muslim countries enjoy in testing times,” the senator said. “I thank King Abdullah for making Nawaz Sharif's stay in the kingdom for seven years memorable,” Mushahidullah said amid frenzy of pro-Saudi and pro-Pakistani slogans. Led by Khalid Akram Rana, president of PML-N Riyadh, the overseas Pakistani supporters of the ruling party exhibited superb management of the celebration and demonstrated discipline, maturity throughout the evening. Khan reminded the crowd King Abdullah's oft-repeated statement, “Pakistan is my second home.” “I'm proud of the Pakistani community here,” the envoy said. The five-hour event ended with Sen. Mushahidullah taking oath from the office bearers of PML-N Riyadh and President Khalid Rana asking the attendees to look forward and invoke positivity in their thinking. Community leaders, and party leaders from PPP, PTI, JUI-F, ANP, were also invited to the event making it representative of a microcosm Pakistan in the Kingdom. — SG
