Published in The Saudi Gazette on 27 - 01 - 2014

Dr Michael Haidinger, Chief Sales Officer at Rolls-Royce Power Systems AG; Sami Akeel, Vice President of Sawary Energy, along with other senior company executives pose for a group photo after the signing of agreement.
JEDDAH – Products bearing the Rolls-Royce Power Systems brand MTU Onsite Energy are now to be marketed in Saudi Arabia by distributor Sawary Energy. The agreement which was signed early in the week in Jeddah spotlights marketing rights for 60 Hertz diesel generators producing up to 3250 kVA. It also includes a service agreement for MTU and Detroit Diesel engines for land-based applications in the oil & gas, mining and rail sectors.
“Saudi Arabia has become one of the largest markets for distributed power generation in the Middle East and it holds significant potential for growth. Cooperation with Sawary Energy will allow us to offer our customers significantly enhanced service,” said Dr Michael Haidinger, Chief Sales Officer at Rolls-Royce Power Systems AG.
“Our partnership with MTU Onsite Energy takes us to the next level in the power generation industry. From now on we are able to purchase both the engines and the systems expertise from a single source. This will give Sawary a competitive advantage which will be reflected in spare part cost, maintenance and after sale services,” said Sami Akeel, Vice President of Sawary Energy.
Akeel said “we were keen that you share with us the signing ceremony of this partnership which will elevate Sawary to a new era by the support of MTU Onsite Energy, the actual Engine manufacturer. The rise to a mutually successful position that is shared by both our clients and us, established through the development of our core values, after sales services, and the highest grade distribution networks through a fully synchronized, fully developed system of market specialization and integration.”
With locations in Riyadh, Jeddah and the Eastern Region and over 300 engineers, technicians and members of the customer service team, Sawary Energy marketed diesel generators since 1975 and offers its customers a comprehensive and reliable service network. In future, Sawary Energy will cover the increased demand for emergency, continuous and peak power in the Saudi Arabian marketplace by offering a range including MTU Series 1600, 2000 and 4000 engines as well as MTU Onsite Energy brand diesel gensets for distributed power generation. – SG
