With regard to the article “Quarter million illegals deported in three months” (Jan. 23), the crackdown on illegal residents is a step in the right direction as it will organize the labor market. However, the expectation that it will create more jobs for Saudis is only an illusion. Most of quarter million expats who have left were laborers and Saudis will not take up these jobs. It seems that the Ministry of Labor is taking the right steps but is wrong in expecting an outcome which will lead to an increase in Saudization. There is clearly a need to develop plans to increase the job skills of Saudi youth. Owais, Online response
