I am writing with regard to the report "Maids asked to pay sponsors SR43,000 for quitting job" (Jan. 21). How do they expect the maids to pay back money without any income in Saudi Arabia? These poor souls resorted to working as maids due to poverty and the inability to find any other source of income. There must be some valid reason that they have refused the job. They clearly did not come to Saudi Arabia for a picnic. Maybe they were cheated or the job was not clearly explained to them. The only beneficiaries in the whole process are some agents and the government. Feels sorry, Online response
