Danube, the leading construction and home interior company in the UAE, announced the opening of 3 new showrooms in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) reflecting the buoyant construction and building material industry in the GCC and MENA region. The new showroom in KSA is located at Asfan – Jeddah. The North Jeddah showroom's area would be 6,000 sq. meters and would mainly stock rebar, plywood, ceramic tiles and sanitary fittings. The showroom in Asfan which spread across 6,000 sq. meters would also stock timber and MDF. “The construction sector in Saudi Arabia and in other countries of the region is witnessing a rapid development, implying that the region has a huge potential for big investment. In general, most of the countries in the GCC and the MENA region are growing, indicating healthy business outcomes,” said Rizwan Sajan, Founder & Chairman of Danube Group, while making the announcement. Moreover, a report by Zawya said that the GCC real estate projects market holds out the largest opportunity over the next 15 years, with around $1.11 trillion worth of projects in the design, bid or construction stage. The new demand drivers in the Kingdom include the improvement of transportation systems and infrastructure projects that have created investment opportunities and will increase the connectivity and attractiveness of the market. Though Saudi contractors are some of the largest in the region, given the size and range of projects planned in the next few years, there still remains a significant opportunity for international contractors to enter the market. “The recent move is a reflection of the monumental success story of Danube. The company has grown organically since its establishment and the opening of new showrooms is a part of our business strategy that underlines the success of Danube as a brand, while reaffirming our commitment to get closer to the customers and cater to their evolving demands,” Sajan noted. Danube has its presence across UAE, Bahrain, Muscat, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kenya, Libya, India and China. — SG
