flynas inaugurates new hub in Madinah

flynas, Saudi Arabia's national carrier, has launched its new hub at Prince Mohammed Bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah starting from Dec. 12, 2013. At a press conference on Sunday attended by key officials from Madinah Airport and the General Authority for Civil Aviation (GACA), Wael Mohammed Al Sarhan, Director of Marketing and Communication at flynas, said: “Madinah is a key destination in our expansion plans due to its City's position in the Islamic World and due to its increasing economic growth, add to that our quest to provide the best air transport solutions in to both citizens and residents to and from the Kingdom.” He added “this expansion is a vital part of our 20X20 strategy targeting our goal of 20 million passengers by 2020.”
Abdulilah Al Eadi, Director, Ground Operations in flynas, extended his appreciation and gratitude to the Management of Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport, saying “we have received a huge amount of support from the management of Madinah Airport which contributed to the launch of our operations in record time. We have also received unlimited support in facilitating the necessary requirements to begin operations and are quite confident that these efforts are only the beginning of a long-term relationship and partnership between flynas and Prince Mohammed bin Fahad International Airport working together as one team to serve passengers to and from Madinah.”
The launch of the new hub resulted in flynas increasing the frequency of domestic flights from Madinah with two flights a day to Jeddah, one flight daily to Dammam, two flights daily to Riyadh and three flights a week to Jizan.
In addition, flynas is adding high frequency flights from Madinah to two new international destinations, Jordan and Turkey with three flights a week to Amman, Istanbul, and Antakya and two flights a week to Kuwait.
Al Sarhan furtehr said “the new hub in Madinah is an important step amongst a list of ambitious future projects for flynas. I would like to take this opportunity to express our deepest appreciation and gratitude to our customers who have supported flynas leading to this advanced state of growth and expansion of our domestic and international operations. From our end, and in response to this loyalty, we will continue fulfilling our promise in to our passengers by simply being better in everything we offer making their trips more comfortable by providing our unique services and competitive prices.”
Established in 2007, flynas has to date carried more than 12 million passengers on 110,000 flights, having won the trust and confidence of customers within a very short time since it was launched. The Airline achieved the highest growth level in passenger transport in 2013 by carrying more than 3 million passengers. — SG
