Al-Safri, Limitless and Nestle Milo win Afternoon matches

JEDDAH — Three matches took place in the Hyundai Naghi-sponsored Afternoon Super Sixes round one encounters where Nestle Milo downed Fuchs Alhamrani by 6 wickets, Limitless defeated Hala International School by 13 runs and Al-Safri had the last laugh against Dopco Young Stars in the WPCA-organized tournament here recently.
Dopco Young Stars, batting first scored 127-9. Babar contributed 21 and Yasir 48 as the two added 71 runs in 44 balls to take the team to 79. But once the partnership was broken, the incoming batsmen fell like ten pins. Saifullah added 18. Aftab Malik took 3-25, Waseeq Sherwani 2-28, while Zafar claimed 1-36, Muneeb 1-27 and Imran 1-11.
Al-Safri-XI, in reply, reached the victory post of 130 for the loss of 3 wickets. Saeed Ahmed hit 39 and Muneeb 28 as the two put on 65. Later Mohammed Amir and Aftab Malik contributed 20 each to take the team to victory. Jamshed grabbed 2-26, while Adeel claimed 1-28.
In the second match, Limitless took the strike first against Hala International School and racked up 171-7. Talha remained unbeaten on 65 in 42 balls (3 sixes and 6 fours), while Fahad Suleiman hit 39 (5 sixes) as the two added 77 after being reduced to 35-3. Abid scalped 2-12, while a wicket each was claimed by Hamid, Sami, Ibrahim and Mohsin. Hala, in reply, was bundled out for 158 to lose by 13 runs as Pareez was run out for 35, Anas Malik hit 27 and Hamid 32. Shahbaz claimed 2-27, Rashid 2-30 and Fahad Suleiman 1-35.
The third match saw Fuchs Alhamrani win the toss against Nestle Milo and post 118-5. Irfan Anjum hit 26, while Nasir Khan slammed 61 in 42 balls (8 fours and 2 sixes) as the two stitched together 84 for the second wicket.
From 89-1 by the 13th over it could reach only 118-5. Haroon Zahid took 2-25, Azeem 2-26 and Fayyaz 1-22.
Nestle Milo, in reply, was home with 6 wickets in hand and 13 balls to spare. Ahmed Faraz top-scored with unbeaten 45 off 42 balls, Imran hit 22, while Azeem remained unbeaten on 20. Razzaq took 2-29 and Khooban 2-31.
In the previous week's matches Al-Safri-XI downed Master's CC, Limitless continued its winning streak against Hala Academy Blue, Nestle Milo remained undefeated against Zultrack, and Fuchs Alkamrani scraped past Jotun Paints.
