ROME — Raimondo D'Inzeo, an Italian equestrian rider who won Olympic gold in 1960 and competed in eight consecutive games, has died. He was 88. The Italian Olympic Committee says D'Inzeo died at his home in Rome late Friday. No cause of death was given. D'Inzeo became a national star when he won with his horse Posillipo at his home games in Rome in 1960. Along with his brother Pietro, he competed in each Summer Games from London in 1948 to Montreal in 1976. He also won two silver medals and three bronzes at the Olympics. CONI president Giovanni Malago announced that a minute of silence will be held in his memory at every sports event in Italy this weekend. — AP
