QPM announces plans to expand reach at Cityscape Global '13
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 25 - 10 - 2013

DUBAI — QPM, one of the region's premier project management companies and the first Qatari firm in the field, has expressed its strong determination of capturing a share of the region's appetite for infrastructure and project development in the UAE, the GCC and other strategic regions and announced its collaboration agreement with the Moroccan Agency for Tourism Development (SMIT) to provide a turnkey solution for investors in tourism-based projects in Morocco.
The agreement between QPM and SMIT was formally signed during Cityscape Global 2013 – the 12th edition of the Middle East's largest and most influential property event – which is being held at the Dubai World Trade Center in the UAE from October 8-10, 2013.
Ahmad Al-Abdulla, Chairman of QPM, and Imad Barrakad, Chairman of SMIT, signed the agreement in the presence of other officials from both companies as well as members of the media.
Under the terms of agreement, SMIT and QPM will provide development management, tourist investment advisory, project management, construction management and consultancy services on tourism-related projects.
“Since the inception of the company, QPM had its sights set on becoming a major regional player in the field of project management and development,” said Al-Abdulla. “Having successfully established an excellent track record and reputation in the industry, QPM has already become the most sought-after provider of a wide range of expertise related to project management in our home country of Qatar.
“In recent years, after having established offices in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Morocco, and Egypt, our services have also been engaged in several key projects in Yemen, Egypt, Sudan and Libya,” Al-Abdulla added.
"With the construction boom currently back on full swing in the UAE, across the GCC and in nearby countries, QPM is more than capable and prepared to offer its services to investors and developers – both in the public and private sectors – who aim to play a greater role in the rapid economic and infrastructure development in this part of globe," he said.
“Taking into account our vast experience in the distinctive geographic characteristics of the area as well as our extremely professional and highly qualified personnel, we confidently assure the market of only the finest project management services.”
Barrakad, the SMIt Chairman, commented: “SMIT is committed to develop and implement innovative concepts to produce the best results and to meet the expectations of its partners."
“Today, Morocco is striving to make tourism one of its main engines for the country's economic development and SMIT has risen as an initiator of innovative projects and a major player in the engineering and tourism development fields that is able to ensure investors support throughout projects life cycles,” he added.
QPM's latest partnership with SMIT brings together SMIT's local knowledge and familiarity, innovative programs and key role in the engineering and tourism development sectors of Morocco, and QPM's expertise in providing world-class quality project management that would surely result only in positive synergies towards all projects that both firms will be working together on. — SG
