JEDDAH – Some 6,000 packets of rotten chickens meant for distribution in high-end restaurants in the city was seized in Jeddah. Officials from the Umm Al-Salam branch municipality raided Tuesday an old residential building in east Jeddah's Quwaiza district where the rotten chickens were kept in unhygienic conditions. The inspectors found foreigners engaged in packing expired chickens. The officials arrested the illegal workers and seized the packets of rotten chickens and instruments used for packaging and pasting sticker, as well as tools for slaughtering. Muhammad Al-Qarni, head of the municipality, said that rotten chickens were destroyed and the house was sealed.
