200 Saudis to be trained as BMW technicians

RIYADH – Mohammed Yousuf Naghi Motors (BMW Division) signed an agreement with the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation, here on Saturday to launch an in-house training program to train Saudis as BMW technicians.
The agreement was signed by Dr. Rashid bin Mohammed Al Zahrani, Vice Governor of TVTC for Training, and Siraj Millibari, Director General of Training at Mohammed Yousuf Naghi Group.
Under the agreement, the TVTC accredited 18-month program, plans to train 200 young Saudis as BMW specialist technicians in a course of five years.
The curricula of the program will be accredited by the United Kingdom-based Institute of Motor Industry, the professional association of individuals working in the motor industry and sector skills council for the automotive retail industry and the governing body for the Automotive Technician Accreditations (ATA) scheme.
Successful graduates of the program, who are considered as employees from day one of their enrollment, will gain the TVTC automotive maintenance and IMI's certificate in light vehicle maintenance.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Dr. Al Zahrani commending the efforts of Al Naghi Group in training Saudi youths and offering them rewarding employment in its move steadily for Saudization, thus giving a good example for a business company in this field.
Millibari thanked TVTC for its support to all programs that Al Naghi Group partnered with TVTC, hoping that the program will yield outcomes for the benefit of the Saudi youths and national economy.
Stravros Paraskevaides, General Manager of Mohammed Yousuf Naghi Motors (BMW Division), said the BMW program is a special program for the group as it relates to a brand that gets the admiration of Saudi youths.

He said the training program will combine both in-class training and on spot training. Class training will be complemented by on spot training doing at the real services locations, so they master their training efficiently and professionally, and be highly qualified to work in our workshops to serve our special customers.
Khalid Alwassia, Training Manager at BMW division, said the BMW training program reflects a long-time commitment from the part of the group to foster as lasting career path as possible, but not just for short time period.
We bet on national youth element for our long-run move and expansion, because this element is a guarantee for stable steady future growth for our company,” he said.
The immediate focus of the program is automotive technicians, but at the long run, the focus will stretch to include body paint, spare parts, and sales specialists, in addition to service advisors.
