Published in The Saudi Gazette on 13 - 06 - 2013

RIYADH – Saudi Arabia is on track to remain the Gulf's biggest IT market this year, with IT spending projected to increase by 6.6. percent to SR15.3 billion. Among the factors driving growth are major opportunities in healthcare and education, broadening cloud computing adoption, and targeted investments towards smart systems.
To support in boosting the Saudi market buoyant performance and maximizing existing prospects, Riyadh Exhibitions Company has announced that it will be organizing a new industry-energizing show called COM.IT. The event builds on REC's 11 years of experience in organizing GITEX Saudi Arabia, the Kingdom's former leading information and communications technology (ICT) trade fair, which COM.IT is set to replace. The inaugural COM.IT 2013 will take place on Nov.16 to 19, 2013 at the Riyadh International Convention & Exhibition Center under the patronage of the Saudi Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. “As a new exhibition and networking event, COM.IT will take different, exciting approaches toward showcasing the latest global IT trends and developments and bringing together key local, regional and global industry players for productive dialogue and interaction. The event is very timely given the strong market outlook through the next four years. A new market platform such as this will definitely bring out new opportunities and fresh perspectives that will benefit the Saudi ICT landscape,” said Zeyad Al Rukban, Assistant General Manager, Riyadh Exhibitions Company.
COM.IT 2013 will display a wide range of ICT products and services, including telecommunications equipment and systems, networking and office automation solutions, the latest PCs and laptops, mobile phones, multimedia devices and digital products. It will also showcase various educational and entertainment gadgets.
Moreover, COM.IT 2013 will feature a workshop and specialized seminars highlighting key industry topics and trends. — SG
