JUBAIL — A ceremony was held on Saturday in Al-Fanateer to bid farewell to retired employees in the colleges and institutes sector whose contracts were due to end this year. The ceremony was held in the presence of Dr. Ali Bin Hassan Asiri, general manager of the colleges and institutes sector in the Royal Commission of Jubail and Yanbu. The ceremony started with verses from the Holy Qur'an, followed by a statement by Asiri in which he welcomed the attendees and outlined achievements during the year. He noted the advanced position of the sector locally and regionally due to partnership programs between colleges and institutes and with a number of prominent universities and training centers in countries such as the US and Canada. He said: “This cooperation has made the colleges and institutes of the Royal Commission among the first options for those who wish to get quality education and training similar to the type of education offered by prestigious colleges outside the Kingdom.” He emphasized the importance of these annual meetings held at the end of each academic year, which allow for more communication and exchange of visions. He expressed his deep appreciation for the retirees, pointing to their outstanding performance and dedication during their service in the colleges and institutes of the Royal Commission for Jubail. The retirees expressed their gratitude and appreciation over the gesture of officials and said they would remember the days they spent in the colleges and institutes. Certificates of appreciations were distributed to 48 retirees, 25 from Jubail University College, 18 from Jubail Industrial College, and five from Jubail Technical Institute.
