year-old Filipino girl has gone missing from a souk here and her anguished parents have made a public appeal to help find their daughter. Fathya Abing, 5'6” tall and having a “fair, white” complexion went missing on Aug. 29 after she left the house to go to Macarona souq, her father, Fauzi Abing, said. The father, however, added that the girl had received a scolding from her mother before she left their house located behind Macarona market and between Gharnata and Tadamon streets. “I really don't know the real reason why her mother scolded her, but it's natural for parents to scold their children,” Abing said by telephone. “The child is very sensitive.” He said he had not asked his wife about it because scolding is a “natural' thing for parents to do. Abing said he was out fishing by the sea when the incident happened. Abing said they have sought the help of some relatives and friends but none of them has seen the child. The couple has put up posters in public places with the picture of their missing child. “All Filipinos please help (find) missing 13-year-old Filipina girl (since) last (Friday) August 29, 2008,” the poster read. “All Christians and Muslims unite in finding her.” __
