RIYADH — Saudi Chief of the General Staff Gen. Fayyad Al-Ruwaili met with NATO Military Committee Chairman Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone in Riyadh on Sunday. During the meeting, they discussed several topics of mutual interest. The meeting was held at a time when significant developments are taking place in the region. The regional situation and their repercussions were figured in the talks. It is noteworthy that the Saudi Presidency of the General Staff is the top command for the Saudi Arabian Armed Forces. It is responsible for coordinating joint operations, training, and equipping of all forces such as Army, Navy, Air Force, Air Defense, and Strategic Missile Force under the Ministry of Defense. The presidency serves as a central entity to which the land, air, naval, and air defense forces are linked. The presidency also leads efforts to train, equip, and rapidly deploy forces, providing the necessary logistical support. It has an independent budget that ensures its continued progress and provides the flexibility to implement all its plans.
