Mississippi man arrested after killing six relatives and church members in rural rampage
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 11 - 01 - 2026

A 24-year-old man killed six people — including close family members and two church figures — during a deadly shooting rampage across three locations in rural northeast Mississippi on Friday night, authorities said.
Daricka M. Moore was arrested just before midnight at a police roadblock in Cedarbluff after a multi-agency manhunt involving local, state, and federal law enforcement.
He is being held without bail at the Clay County jail in West Point on multiple murder charges and is expected to make an initial court appearance on Monday.
Clay County District Attorney Scott Colom said he intends to seek the death penalty, adding that Moore would likely be appointed a public defender at his first appearance. If the charges are upgraded to capital murder, Moore would be ineligible for bail under Mississippi law.
Clay County Sheriff Eddie Scott told a news conference on Saturday that investigators believe Moore acted alone and that no other injuries were reported.
Investigators say the shootings began at a family mobile home in western Clay County, where Moore allegedly killed his father, Glenn Moore, 67; his brother, Quinton Moore, 33; and his uncle, Willie Ed Guines, 55. Authorities believe Moore then stole his brother's truck and drove to a nearby cousin's home, where he forced his way inside, attempted to commit sexual battery, and fatally shot a 7-year-old girl.
Sheriff Scott said Moore then threatened another child by placing a gun to her head, though she was not shot. The child's mother and a third child were also present during the attack.
Moore allegedly continued the rampage by driving to the Apostolic Church of The Lord Jesus, where he broke into a residence on church grounds and killed the pastor, the Rev. Barry Bradley, and his brother, Samuel Bradley. The two men reportedly lived in nearby Columbus but stayed on the church property during weekends.
Moore was arrested at 11:24 p.m., roughly four-and-a-half hours after the first emergency call, according to authorities. Investigators said he was carrying both a rifle and a handgun at the time of his arrest and are working to determine how he obtained the weapons.
Autopsies are being conducted by the state medical examiner, while investigators continue to interview Moore to establish a motive.
"A situation like this, you've got a family member attacking their own family," Sheriff Scott said. "Whatever the reason is, we're hoping that we'll find out."
Authorities said the killings have deeply shaken the small rural community, with surviving relatives described as overwhelmed by grief. — Agencies
