Yemen's Saudi Ambassador meets STC delegation in Riyadh STC Presidency member: Meeting with Al-Jaber was "fruitful"

RIYADH — Saudi Ambassador to Yemen Mohammed Al-Jaber met with a delegation from the Southern Transitional Council (STC) in Riyadh on Thursday.
During the meeting, they discussed a wide range of issues related to recent political developments, particularly the STC's actions over the past period and their impact on the southern cause.
Ambassador Al-Jaber emphasized the importance of unifying the southern ranks and avoiding any steps that could harm the cause or divert efforts in confronting shared challenges. He noted that some actions taken at the direction of Aidarus al-Zubaidi had not served the southern cause and had contributed to weakening the internal front at a critical juncture requiring the highest levels of coordination and responsibility.
In this context, the two sides discussed political solutions for the next phase, ensuring a course correction that serves the aspirations of the people of the South and aligns with the efforts of the Saudi-led Coalition supporting the Legitimate Government in Yemen, aimed at achieving security and stability and ending the conflict while preserving a unified stance.
The meeting also addressed the ongoing arrangements for the Dialogue on the Southern Issue, scheduled to be held in Riyadh in the coming period. Saudi Arabia affirmed its commitment to sponsoring a comprehensive Southern dialogue that leads to realistic and sustainable approaches to addressing the issue within a comprehensive political framework that takes into account national and regional balances.
For his part, Mohammed Al-Ghaithi, a member of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council, stated that the meeting with Ambassador Al-Jaber was "fruitful." During the meeting, they reviewed the latest developments and emphasized the rejection of anything that could harm the unity of the Southern ranks. "Emphasis was placed on prioritizing the public interest and serving the Southern cause, free from any narrow considerations," he said.
Al-Ghaithi stated that the STC leadership highly values the efforts of their brothers in Saudi Arabia, particularly their invitation and sponsoring of the Southern Dialogue Conference, which aims to find a just and equitable solution to the southern issue. He affirmed their full support for and confidence in the Kingdom's leadership and its pivotal role in fostering stability.
Al-Ghaithi noted that the STC delegation received clear commitments from the Saudi side regarding the cause of the Southern people and ensuring a secure and stable future within the framework of a comprehensive political vision that supports peace, enhances opportunities to end the conflict, and establishes a new phase of stability in Yemen and the region.
