RIYADH — Saudi Aramco has announced plans to introduce a new fuel product, Gasoline (98), into the domestic market beginning early 2026, as part of efforts to meet evolving market requirements identified by the Ministry of Energy. The new gasoline grade will be added to Aramco's fuel portfolio without affecting existing fuel products, offering consumers additional options while responding to growing demand for specialized fuels, particularly for high-performance vehicles. According to the company, Gasoline (98) is designed specifically for sports cars and high-performance engines that require higher octane ratings to operate efficiently. The move is expected to support the automotive and energy sectors by enhancing vehicle performance and improving fuel efficiency for advanced engines. Initial rollout in major cities During the initial phase, Gasoline (98) will be available only in Riyadh, Jeddah, and the Dammam metropolitan area, including key connecting roadways. Aramco said the decision reflects the higher concentration of vehicles requiring this fuel type in those regions. The company noted that the potential expansion to other areas will be evaluated at a later stage, based on market demand and consumption patterns. Pricing and governance Aramco confirmed that the retail price of Gasoline (98) will be announced through its official website on the retail fuel sales page. Pricing will be subject to periodic review in line with the approved governance framework for energy and water product pricing. The introduction of the new fuel grade aligns with broader efforts to diversify energy products, respond to changing consumer needs, and support economic activity linked to advanced automotive technologies.
