JAKARTA — Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto received Muslim World League (MWL) Secretary General and Chairman of Organization of Muslim Scholars Sheikh Mohammed Al-Issa in Jakarta. Speaking on the occasion, Subianto praised the MWL's global standing as a unifying reference for Muslim peoples, highlighting its prominent role in building bridges between Islamic schools of thought and actively confronting Islamophobia. Dr. Al-Issa affirmed that the MWL exists to serve Muslims and all of humanity, based on the principle of mercy to all mankind and striving to achieve peace and harmony within societies. He also highlighted the league's efforts in supporting charitable initiatives and projects worldwide, noting that all support is subject to government approvals in each respective country. Meanwhile, Sheikh Al-Issa delivered the Friday sermon at Jakarta's Istiqlal Mosque, the largest mosque in Southeast Asia. In his sermon, Dr. Al-Issa highlighted Islamic values that call for noble conduct, unity, and kindness toward others. He emphasized the dangers of incitement against Muslims and the responsibility of the international community to counter such actions. Al-Issa underscored the importance of respecting diverse Islamic jurisprudential views and unifying positions on major common issues. He highlighted MWL's document on building bridges between Islamic schools of thought, which aims to strengthen unity and promote joint Islamic action.
