RIYADH — Saudi Health Minister Fahd Al-Jalajel has concluded an official visit to Sweden aimed at strengthening health cooperation and bilateral ties in the fields of innovation and health investment. During the visit, he met Swedish Foreign Minister Maria Stenergard and Minister of Health Care Elisabeth Lann, where discussions focused on global health collaboration, digital health, virtual care, sustainable care models, enhanced preventive capabilities and the integration of modern technologies into health systems. The visit also witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the Karolinska Institute to advance research and the exchange of expertise. It further supported joint work with the private sector through discussions with AstraZeneca and Elekta on cooperation in advanced therapies, precision medicine and cutting-edge radiological technologies. Al-Jalajel toured several health institutions and specialized research centers, including the Public Health Agency of Sweden, SALAR International and the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare, to exchange knowledge and review leading international practices.
