British prosecutors confirmed on Wednesday that influencer brothers Andrew and Tristan Tate have been criminally charged in the United Kingdom with multiple offenses, including rape, actual bodily harm, human trafficking, and controlling prostitution for gain. The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) revealed that charges were approved in January 2024, but this is the first official confirmation of the case against the Tates in Britain. Arrest warrants, previously reported by media outlets, were issued by Bedfordshire Police in connection with alleged offenses that occurred between 2012 and 2015. Andrew Tate, 38, faces 10 charges involving three women, while Tristan Tate, 36, is charged with 11 offenses relating to one woman. The CPS has stated that both brothers, who hold dual U.S. and British citizenship and relocated to Romania in 2016, are subject to an extradition order. Romania has agreed to hand them over to UK authorities once their ongoing legal proceedings there are concluded.
