The Houthi group announced Saturday that three people were killed and two others wounded in a series of U.S. airstrikes targeting areas in and around Yemen's capital, Sanaa. According to the Houthi-affiliated 26 September news site, two individuals were killed in a strike on the Al-Nahda neighborhood in the Al-Thawra District, central Sanaa. Houthi-run Al-Masirah TV reported an additional fatality and injury in Bani Matar District, also in Sanaa province. Al-Masirah further claimed that American strikes hit Bani Hashish District with three airstrikes and Al-Hosn District with two. The Dhurwan area in Hamdan District and the Sirwah District in Ma'rib Province were also reportedly targeted. Earlier in the day, Al-Masirah said that 13 U.S. airstrikes hit Al Hudaydah's port and airport, though no further details were provided. The U.S. has not issued an official statement regarding the latest strikes. U.S. President Donald Trump ordered intensified military operations against the Houthis in mid-March, calling for "decisive and powerful" action and later warning he would "completely annihilate them." Since November 2023, the Houthis — designated a terrorist organization by the United States — have launched attacks on commercial and military vessels in the Red Sea, Bab al-Mandab Strait, and Gulf of Aden, claiming solidarity with Palestinians amid the ongoing war in Gaza.
