RIYADH — The Ministry of Tourism conducted a comprehensive survey of all closed tourism facilities to ensure that official closure orders remain in effect. The ministry confirmed it is continuing to enforce legal penalties on establishments found in violation of Saudi Arabia's tourism laws and executive regulations, with fines reaching up to SR1 million, closure orders, or both. The measures apply to all facilities operating without a valid license from the ministry, or continuing to function after license expiration, cancellation, or during suspension. As part of its oversight efforts, the ministry conducted a comprehensive survey of all closed tourism facilities to ensure that official closure orders remain in effect. In coordination with regional authorities, security agencies, and relevant government bodies, the ministry also carries out routine follow-ups to verify compliance with closure decisions. The ministry underscored the importance of all hospitality and tourism service providers adhering to regulations, including securing the necessary licenses. It noted that existing laws and approved standards require all violating establishments to rectify their status and comply with regulations before being permitted to reopen. These measures, the ministry emphasized, are intended to raise the quality of services, safeguard the well-being of visitors and tourists, and contribute to the growth and competitiveness of the Kingdom's tourism sector—making it more attractive to both investors and travelers. The ministry affirmed its firm stance in applying the tourism law against violators but reiterated its commitment to fully support private sector partners who comply with the law and contribute to the development of a sustainable and world-class tourism industry in Saudi Arabia.
