RIYADH — Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman sent cables of condolences to United States President Donald Trump after a passenger plane collided with a military helicopter in the capital Washington on Wednesday. They offered deepest condolences and sincere sympathy to Trump as well as to the families of the deceased, and to the American people. "We came to know the news of the collision of a passenger plane with a military helicopter in the capital, Washington, and the resulting deaths," the King and the Crown Prince said in cables of condolences sent separately to Trump. An American Airlines passenger plane and a US Army Black Hawk helicopter collided in mid-air near Washington's Ronald Reagan Airport on Wednesday evening. The aircraft, carrying 60 passengers and four crew members, was en route from Kansas. The helicopter, which was on a training flight, had three military personnel on board. The passenger plane crashed into the Potomac River. A search and rescue operation is currently underway, as no survivors are expected in the crash.
