RIYADH — Justice Minister Walid Al-Samaani launched the first phase of the higher diploma in Criminal Law program, designed specifically for judges at criminal courts in Saudi Arabia. During the launch, Al-Samaani emphasized that the program aligns with the Kingdom's ongoing legislative developments under the leadership of Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman. The initiative aims to uphold rights, establish principles of justice and transparency, and enhance the predictability of legal decisions. The minister explained that the program seeks to equip judges with the foundational principles and general rules of criminal law, while enhancing their legal skills to accurately apply these laws. The program focuses on ensuring the correct interpretation and implementation of legal provisions, ultimately enhancing the quality of criminal rulings. The higher diploma in Criminal Law covers a range of courses designed to instill a deep understanding of criminal law principles, establish procedural clarity, and guide judges on accurately characterizing crimes.
