RIYADH — The National Society for Human Rights (NSHR) disclosed in a report that it had received at total of 3,813 complaints last year. The majority of the cases, numbering 1,048, related to administrative matters. They included complaints against government bodies, enforcement of court orders, medical mistakes, forcible deportation, violence against workers and encroachment on properties. Prisoners' complaints came second with 861 cases. They included non-issuance of release orders after completion of prison terms and poor hygiene in jails. Complaints of disputes between individuals and private companies came third, followed by labor disputes. There were also complaints of court cases pending for long periods and judges mistreating plaintiffs. Men filed 2,427 complaints while women filed 1,386 cases. The report showed that complaints against the Ministry of Health were the most against any government body, followed by the Ministry of Education. Of the 137 cases against the Ministry of Health, 64 were against government hospitals. Complaints of child abuse dropped to 79 cases last year from 95 cases the previous year. Administrative, labor, judicial and family violence cases have also registered a decline compared to the year before, while prisoners' complaints have increased.
