Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi outlined the national priorities throughout his tenure after taking the constitutional oath for a third six-year presidential term on Tuesday. President El-Sisi took his oath in the new headquarters of the House of Representatives, at the New Administrative Capital for the first time. El-Sisi's new presidential term will officially begin on Wednesday. Last December, the Supreme Presidential Elections Committee announced that President El-Sisi had been re-elected president of the Republic for a new presidential term with a vote percentage of 89.6% and a total of 39 million and 702 thousand votes. Article 144 of the Egyptian Constitution stipulates that the president of the Republic, before assuming his duties, shall take the following oath before the House of Representatives. The oath: "I swear by God Almighty to faithfully preserve the republican system, to respect the Constitution and the law, to fully look after the interests of the people, and to preserve the independence of the Republic. The homeland, its unity and territorial integrity." President El-Sisi, in his speech during his inauguration ceremony, thanked the Egyptian people for entrusting him with another presidential term. He outlined the objectives of national work for his new term, encompassing politics, foreign affairs, economic reforms, social protection, and urban development. El-Sisi vowed to safeguard Egypt's national security amid the turbulent regional and global situation. "I pledge to Allah and you that I will remain loyal in my work, focusing solely on your interests and those of the country," he affirmed. "I reaffirm my commitment to continuing the journey of nation-building and fulfilling the aspirations of the esteemed Egyptian people in building a modern democratic state that excels in science, industry, urban development, agriculture, literature, and arts," El-Sisi added. El-Sisi pledged to continue strengthening well-balanced relations with all nations to allow Egypt to maintain its role in promoting global peace, security, and development. Additionally, he vowed to deepen national dialogue and implement its recommendations to foster political and democratic participation, especially among the youth. He emphasized his commitment to adopting strategies that maximize Egypt's economic resources, capabilities, and resilience. He also vowed to work on achieving powerful and sustainable economic growth and enhancing the private sector's role as a main partner in the development process. Moreover, the state will focus on boosting the contribution of agriculture, industry, communications and information technology, and tourism sectors to Egypt's gross domestic product (GDP), El-Sisi said. Additionally, he emphasized that the state will work to transform Egypt into a regional hub for transportation and transit trade as well as renewable energy and green hydrogen with its derivatives. The president also affirmed his commitment to developing major unplanned areas and the "Housing for All Egyptians" program that targets young people and low-income families. The Speaker of the House of Representatives Hanafy El-Gebaly received El-Sisi upon his arrival at the new capital where the national anthem was played. State officials, including Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, Head of the General Intelligence Service (GIS) Abbas Kamel, and Speaker of the Senate Abdel-Wahab Abdel-Razek attended the event. Also present were the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Sheikh Ahmed El-Tayyeb and Pope Tawadros II, the Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the Coptic Orthodox Church. El-Gebaly, in his speech in parliament, stated that this day "marks a milestone in the New Republic."
